The Kawasaki KX was a cc, off-road motorcycle and motocross motorcycle manufactured by Kawasaki from through and again from through Kawasaki did not produce production motocross machines for the model year, as their previous version had been proven obsolete by the introduction of long-travel suspension by Kawasaki's competitors, most notably the Suzuki RMA. Kawasaki returned in with a limited production and totally revised KXA The KX models were the first to use a modern single-shock rear suspension.

Water-cooling and front disk brake were instituted with the models. The KX introduced in was Kawasaki's first serious attempt at a production motorcross bike. This differed from their earlier efforts in that it wasn't an offshoot of a mainly enduro themed machine. It began a line of production motocrossers that are highly respected for their strength and competitiveness.
Kawasaki has always followed a route of continuous development for their KX series lending them to always be competitive and for the speed at which factory racing developments make it into the production machines. The first KX was based largely on Jimmy Weinert 's machine. The engine was a liquid cooled single cylinder, four-stroke.
Stopping was achieved via single disc in the front and a single disc in the rear. The KX was fitted with a 1. The Kawasaki KX is a middleweight off-road motorcycle for the intermediate and experienced riders. It sport a steel frame designed to provide the ultimate rigidity with minimal weight and the re-engineered swingarm now boasts new sporty linkage angles for better response to the demands of the discerning pilot.
With separate air and oil chambers, the front Kayaba suspension is fully adjustable and can offer innumerable setups when combined with the way adjustable compression and rebound rear shock. The cc 2-stroke engine is no toy: it produces more than 58 hp, so the addition of petal brake discs is a most welcome upgrade. The KX sports a cc 2-stroke engine, but this bike is no toy, as it produces in excess of 58 hp and should only be ridden by pilots with at least intermediate experience.
The suspensions of the Kawasaki KX provide innumerable setup positions, thanks to the massive 48 mm oleopneumatic Kayaba forks and new Uni-Trak rear shock.

You get your real power when its in high revs like powerband. Thats when the horses kick in. It has a soft rear suspension but its still good better if your a light rider. Good front disk brakes but they where pretty fast. Great rear drum brake works exceptionally well for a drum brake. Overall to me this bike has been great no problem as long as you just maintain it correct.
The power is pretty good. Has pretty good mid and top.
Bottom isn't spectacular but ok. The suspension isn't really good. The forks aren't bad but they were soft. I put heavier springs in them and that helped a little bit. The rear shock wasn't awesome. But again not terrible for its year. But i could bottom out the suspension and i only weigh Brakes were pretty good.
It had both from and back disc brakes so it was fairly good but the pads wore away really fast. This bike right now is pretty old to be driven hard. The frame is really bad it brakes easy. And the suspension isn't that good.Edit Profile Logout. Go back to the Suzuki RM list. Log in to post your review.

I have completely stock suspension and it works extremely well. It lands really good off of jumps and handles whoops really good and soaks up all the little stuff. Really good over all bike. Not really a beginnner bike but not for the expert. A good all around bike for the intermediate. Power not bad on the bottom. Band kicks in fairly early right through to the top. A good all round bike. Found the bike was very light when jumping, which was good when you where pushing the bike around in the air.

The 95 and 98 were both setup a little stiff but dont let that put you off-most bikes by now have been altered since new and you must go on mechanical condition as the main concern.
